Career Counselling
Career Counselling at Our School
Career counselling at our school focuses on helping learners understand their strengths, interests, values, and academic preferences so they can make informed decisions about their future pathways. It is a collaborative process in which students explore various fields of study, emerging career options, and the skills needed for success in different professions.
The programme is designed to guide students through every stage of academic and career planning—from early awareness in the junior years to more structured decision-making in the senior grades. Our approach ensures that students receive timely information, practical tools, and personalised guidance to navigate transitions such as subject selection, university applications, and long-term career planning.
Objectives and Purpose of Career Counselling
• Enable students to develop a positive, proactive approach towards their academic and career choices.
• Help learners identify their strengths and areas for improvement through age-appropriate self-assessment.
• Encourage meaningful engagement in career exploration and planning at every grade level.
• Equip students with essential skills such as decision-making, goal-setting, and research.
• Provide clarity on educational and vocational opportunities at key transition points.
• Offer reliable, up-to-date information about courses, universities, and career pathways suited to each learner’s profile.
What Career Counselling Includes
Career counselling supports students in understanding how their interests, aptitudes, academic performance, and personal motivations align with different professional fields. Counsellors assist learners in exploring subject combinations, understanding university requirements, comparing study options, and evaluating emerging industries and global opportunities.
Students are guided in setting realistic goals, developing long-term plans, and preparing for the expectations of higher education. Through structured sessions, research activities, and one-to-one meetings, the programme empowers students to make confident, informed decisions about their future.
Career Guidance Activities in School
As part of our career education framework, students participate in workshops, pathway planning sessions, university interactions, and informational talks conducted by experts from various fields. These structured activities help students gain clarity about the academic and professional landscape, allowing them to make choices that align with their aspirations.
Our career counselling programme also encourages students to explore multiple fields, understand career clusters, and become familiar with evolving job markets so they are better prepared for the demands of the future.
Careers Expo / University Market
To broaden students’ exposure to diverse opportunities, the school regularly hosts career and university fairs. These events allow learners to interact directly with representatives from leading institutions, understand programme offerings, and gather information about admissions, courses, scholarships, and global career pathways.

Feedback
Good initiative taken by Mrs. Swathi M Rao. Student guidance is as important as securing good grades in exam. A great platform created by Sri Sankara Global Academy, Pammal for the learners along with their parents to acquire, collaborate and decide the future path of their kids. Much appreciated.
I would like to thank the management of the school for giving the parents a wonderful opportunity to explore different universities under one roof. The representatives of each universities were well prepared for any type of queries from the parents’ end. And last but not the least I would also like to thank the volunteers who guided us for the seminar and presentations
The expo held at our school was very informative and helpful. I was able to explore a wide range of universities and discover new opportunities related to my academic career, all under one roof. I would like to thank our principal Mrs.Jyostna Mahesh and our academic counsellor Mrs.Swathi Rao for organizing such an amazing event for us and enlightening us with the opportunities in the outer world
It was a pleasure participating in the “Wharf” university expo on 22nd February 2020 organized by your reputed school Sri Sankara Global Academy, Pammal. I must say that these young minds were very curious to explore possibilities of quality education outside of Chennai. It was a well organized event, given the fact that I as an Ambassador University could connect with more than 40 students from 8th standard and up, who walked in to genuinely know and understand about liberal education at Ahmedbad university.
